Letter to Mayors

Dear Mr. or Madam Mayor,

International Recycling Group is in the process of securing financing for the construction what will be the world's largest plastics recycling plant. This state-of-the-art manufacturing facility—to be located in the US Midwest—will be sorting and processing all types and grades of plastic and repurposing that plastic scrap into fuel for the integrated steel industry.

Our primary raw material is plastic scrap that has little or no economic value and which either ends up in landfill at high cost to the waste collector/generator, or is exported at heavily discounted value relative to the material's embedded energy content.

PolyCoke™ will become the most significant new energy option for the steel industry in decades. When injected into the blast furnace, plastic scrap fuel reduces the overall permitted blast furnace emissions authorized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, resulting in improved air quality and a lower carbon footprint for the production of steel.

Also, every ton of PolyCoke™ that is consumed in a blast furnace is one ton less plastic that finds its way into a landfill, and eases demand on virgin fossil fuel production by the steel industry.

We are expecting virtually unlimited demand for every pound of plastic scrap International Recycling Group can source within a 750-mile radius of the Great Lakes region. This will therefore have a dramatic impact on current recycling programs as existing programs typically rely on manual sorting of plastics into "recyclable" PET and HDPE bottles and the remainder is waste that is landfilled.

International Recycling Group's new "hyper-plant" will be able to accept ALL types of plastic—not just bottles (the "#1s and #2s"). Thus, "single streaming", or combining all plastics into a recycling bin or cart for pickup, will now be economically viable, and the overall diversion rate of plastic scrap reported by government entities working with International Recycling Group will be greatly improved.

The emergence of International Recycling Group in the recycling industry means that municipalities now have a valuable new asset in their stream of municipal solid waste that can be monetized to reduce waste collection, hauling, disposal and processing costs to taxpayers.

We would like to have our executives meet with you, or with someone in your department of sanitation/waste collection, to explain how International Recycling Group's recycling programs can be tailored to save your city money without any net cost to you.

Please visit www.internationalrecycling.com to learn more about who we are and the revolutionary changes on their way for waste plastic disposal.

Sincerely,

International Recycling Group
