International Recycling Group Bringing Country's Largest Plastic Recycling Plant to Erie: Giving You the Business

International Recycling Group (IRG) is spearheading a multi-million dollar project in east Erie.

"It's going to be by far the largest plastic recycling plant in the country," said Mitch Hecht, chairman and founder of IRG.

The $200 million full-scale plastics recycling operation will sit on 25 acres across from the former Hammermill Paper plant in the City of Erie. Ground will be broken in the spring.

"I like to say we want Erie to become synonymous with plastic sustainability as Corning is to glass," said Hecht.
