IRG Applauds Erie County Council on Recycling Resolution

Erie, PA (October 13, 2021) – International Recycling Group (IRG) applauded Erie County Council for its resolution to examine Erie County’s residential recycling efforts.

 

On Tuesday, County Council passed a resolution to encourage recycling and continual assessment of existing curbside collection of recyclables. County Council resolved to study the efficiency and effectiveness of current municipal waste contracts.

 

At the meeting, Erie County Council Chairman, Carl Anderson noted the importance of recycling and lauded County Council members for its unanimous support of the resolution. “We all understand the value of and the need for the efficient recycling programs to support our environment,” Anderson said.

 

“Recycling plastic is key to the long-term viability of our greatest natural asset – earth,” said, Mitch Hecht, Founder and Chairman of IRG. “Efforts like this, initiated by our County Council, will help keep plastics out of landfills and waterways. It also shows that Erie County is committed to recycling effectively – another reason Erie County is a great place to live.”
